Some people just get overwhelmed by the sheer volume of kanji that exists. 1 and 2 of Heisig's Remember the Kanji. I went through Heisig volume 1 in 2 months. Nov 25, 2009 - I used this dictionary probably several times a day for 2-3 years, as evidenced by the filth on the pages. I just completed the Depending on how I am progressing, I may proceed to Volume 2 in March or I may hold off until I feel I am read to begin with the readings. Jan 26, 2006 - This 491 page ebook covers just over 3,000 advance level kanji. Yeah, the Intermediate Kanji series only covers up to the 1000 kanji necessary for Level 2. To make 1) and 2) a little easier, I've been trying to further organize the kanji with a given Jouyou/JLPT number and stroke count. Also included are the indexes of both Remembering the Kanji, Volumes 1 and 2 for a total of 639 pages. Plus, it was highly rewarding to have .. For example, there I though about things like remembering "the kanji for power" or "the kanji for person", but I don't want to link it to anything in the English language, as I'm trying to make my Japanese knowledge as independent as possible. Feb 16, 2011 - Remembering the Kanji Volume 1: Complete. Actually writing down the kanji with a pen and paper was really helpful for learning it (and remembering the stroke order), and this way I had a notebook that I easily just toss in my bag and take with me on a bus or to Starbucks. I am really hoping these books work for me.
